New Mexico Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (NM MESA and/or MESA) is a pre-college program that prepares students for college and careers in mathematics, engineering, science or technically related fields. MESA students participate in a variety of enriched math, science and engineering activities including field trips, speakers, workshops, regional and state-wide academic competitions, community service and leadership development projects. The NM MESA, Inc., Annual Statewide Math and Science MESA Day is designed to encourage the concept of problem solving through teamwork. It salutes NM MESA students for their commitment to academic excellence and reinforces the NM MESA mission of preparing students from historically underrepresented ethnic groups for college majors and careers in math, engineering and science. In keeping with our mission, advisers are encouraged to assemble teams that are representative of the ethnic and gender diversity of their school and MESA enrollment. This year's competition theme is energy as a grand challenge, the challenge is about providing sustainable living with renewable energy. To find information about Mesa Day Competition, click here.
